A storm developed in the north on Saturday evening, and the barometer read 29.42 at Auckland at 4 p.m. on Sunday. Present indications are for east to south-east winds, strong to gale, northward of Farewell Spit and Kaikoura, and moderate to strong southerlies elsewhere. Weather unsettled and cloudy generally.
