MEAT PRICE WAR
AGREEMENT ANTICIPATED. (Rec. July 7, 5.45 p.m.) London, July 6. Cautious statements made on behalf of big firms importing Argentine meat suggest that the time is approaching when the price war may Ire terminated by agreement. The "Daily Mail” says that the firms sacrificed millions of pounds during the past .year. Importers contend that the public has been henefitting through the cheapness of joints, but that sooner or later the senseless competition must cense. t The fight has been really between Vesteys and an American group.—Sydney "Sun” Cable.
