STOLEN JEWELLERY
CITY RESIDENCE ENTERED YOUNG CLERK’S ADMISSION Ronald Cozalet Bloxham, a clerk (aged 21) appeared in the Magistrate's Court yesterday before Air. E. Page, S.AL, ou a charge of breaking and entering by day the house of Charlton Morpeth, 21b Wellington Terrace, and stealing a gold watch and two rings, of a total value of £lOO, the property of Oenone Margaret Greig. The accused was represented by Air. P. 11. Putnam. Detective McLennan stated that as a result of a complaint from Air. Greig he accompanied Detective Jarrold to the house. They found footprints in the dining-room and the marks of rubber shoes on the fire escape. After further inquiries, he interviewed accused, who made a statement admitting that lie entered the house through an open, window in the dining-room and took jewellery from the mantlepiece. Later witness visited a house at Miramar, where one ring and the watch were recovered. It was stated by accused that he had given the other ring to a girl with whom he had been keeping company, but she did not know that he had stolen it. This ring had also been recovered. Accused pleaded guilty and was committed to the Supreme Court for sentence. Bail (£100) was renewed. The theft of £2 from Perceval Myers was also admitted by Bloxham. ChiefDetective Ward said that Alyers occupied a flat on the floor below that on which Bloxham lived. The latter had stolen the money during Myers’s absence. On this charge accused was remanded for sentence to Friday morning, pending a report from the Probation Officer.
