N.Z. BATTLEFIELD MEMORIALS

ILLUSTRATED LECTURE TO-NIGHT The work of the New Zealand Government in erecting memorials to commerate the heroic deeds of the New Zealand troops on the battelfields of Gallipoli, France, Belgium and Palestine,' will be the subject of illustrated lectures to be given in the Concert Chamber of the Town Hnll, this evening, and on Thursday evening, bv Mr. S. Hurst Seager, F.R’.T.B.A., F.N.Z.1.A.. of Christchurch. who has just completed a successful tour of the South Island. To but few in tho Dominion will come tho privilege of actual sight of these battlefield memorials and the opportunity now presented of seeing the illustrations.and hearing them explained bv the architect responsible for them will no doubt bo appreciated. A series of some 230 lantern slides will be thrown on the screen depicting the battle sites of Longuoval, Me«sines. Gravenstafel nnd Le Ouesnoy, and a special set of pictures will be devoted to Gallipoli. The lectures will ho presided over by His Worship the Mayor, supported by Colonel Hall, president of the Wellington Branch of the Returned Soldiers’ Association, and admission will be free.
