WINTER SHOW
EXECUTIVE MEETING. A meeting of the executive of the Wellington Winter Show Association was held last night, Mr. G. Mitchell presiding. The Publicity Committee reported that advice had been received from the Railway Department that -the regulations for farmers’ trains would not permit of such being run for winter shows. From the Mayor a letter was read regarding the advisability of holding an international exhibition in Wellington. It was suggested that the Association should forward resolutions, wh’ch, if approved, would be placed before a public meeting to be. convened later. Messrs. Nimmo. W. S. Arison, Burgoyne-Thom-as, nnd A. Sando were appointed a special committee to frame resolutions embodying the principles considered necessary in the interests of the city. On the motion of Mr. J. It. Goldsmith it was decided to write to headmasters advising them that when children under 12 years of age visited the show they were not to be permitted to take part in dart or hoop-lah games or any game which fostered the gambling instinct. ’
