RACING AND TROTTING CLUBS CO-OPERATE
RACING AND TROTTING ON SAME COURSE. [BY TELEGRAPH.] —PRESS ASSOCIATION. Oamaru, June 7. As a result of negotiations between the Oamaru Racing and Trotting Clubs, it was decided to-night to co-operate and hold their meetings on the racecourse The Trotting Club agreed to spend pound for pound with the Racing Club up to £-1000 on improvements and on the alteration, erection, and removal of buildings. In explaining the position, Mr H S. OrbeH, of the Racing Club, said that during the past five years.the club had carried on at a loss of £3400, or nearly £7OO a vear. On the other hand, the Trotting Club has made sub stantial profits.
