ANNUAL MEETING. The annual meeting of the New Zealand Club was he’d last evening the president, Mr. E. W. A. Kellow, being in the chair. In moving the adoption of the report ami balance-sheet, Mr. Kellow state! that the chib had finished it* year with a net credit balance of £42 19s. lid., which, although slightly less than last year, was quite satisfactory. It was regretted, however, that on .some . ac. easions when perhaps less distinguished visitors were being entertained, the attendance had been poor. Member should make an effort to be present irrespective of whom the speaker might be. The report mentioned that the follow. Ing guests had been entertained during the vear:—Admiral R. E. Coontz and Staff Officers of the United States Naw, Field Marshal Viscount Allenby, Mr. H. N Holmes (Secretary Federal Council of Churches, New York), The Hon. J. G. Coates, Sir Harry Brittain (Empire Press Delegation), Sir George S. Rich, ardson (Administrator of Samoa), Sn Frank Heath (Head of the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research, Great Briatin). and Sir A'exander Ro!>erts (New Zealand Commissioner, at Wenihley). Efforts had been made to entertain other prominent people who had visited the Dominion but it was sometimes a d’fficult matter to arrange. On the motion of Mr. M. Marks, it was decided: "That rule 5 be amended to read • ‘Active members shall pav an annual subscription of 155., reducible to 10s. if paid or or before June 30, in each year.’ ” Officers e’ected for the ensuing year were:—Patron, the Governor-General; president, Mr. E. W. A. Kellow; vicepresidents, Messrs. M. F. Marks and J. M. Dale; committee. Messrs. W. M. Page, F. S'. Pone, J. G. Smith, J. McIntosh, end S. W Fearn: hon. auditor Mr. D. E. Beaglehole; hon. secretary. Mr. E. P. Lambert.
