ALLEGED THEFT

POSTAL OFFICER ARRESTED. By Telegraph.—Press Association Christchurch, May 31. This afternoon Detective J. Bickerdike arrested Frank Hardy Francis, supervisor at the Rangiora Post Office, on a charge of having on November 21, at Otautau, stolen the sum of £lBO, the property of the Postmaster-General. Accused was brought before a Justice of the Peace, and on the application of the police was remanded until June 8, to appear at Christchurch. Bail was not applied for. It is understood that other charges are pending. The accused has been in the Post Office service for thirty-two years.
