COOK ISLAND FRUITGROWERS PROTECTED Tn the Cook Islands no person is allowed to buy fruit intended for export unless he holds a license as a fit and proper person. Dishonesty is a ground for preventing the issue of a license to anv applicant, or for withdrawing one from any licensee. Regulations that came into force at the beginning of this month provide that a licensed buyer who loses his license or an applicafit who fails to receive one, because of imputations, of dishonesty, may appeal to the High Court. - A register of licenses is kept on each island. The fees are £1 for the license of a principal buyer, 10s. for his employee. ■
