A PRESENTATION
The Bov. T. H. Burton. BIA., who is leaving for- the Dunedin district, was farewelled at a large gathering held in the Methodist Church. Kilbirntol on Thursday last. Messrs. Ilorwood Cable. Moxham and Riddell spoke fceli’atfly ,of Mr. Burton’s influence in the circuit, r.articularly: in the conscientious way he carried out his duties and the inspiration eriven in his prayers and addresses. On behalf of the circuit, Mr. Riddell nresented Mr. Burton with a leather suitcase and a cheque, and Mr. P Smethurst, on behalf of the Guild, handed Mr. Burton an album. Rev. Emmett M.C., superintendent minister, regretted losing his colleague. and stated he had never known one who had a higher sense of a Christian’s duty. Mr. Burton suitably responded, making particular reference to the many friends he was leaving behind. Items were rendered by Misses Lawtor and Lawrence and Mrs Hallam and Messrs. Phillip, Smethurst and Dorrian Supper was dispensed at tho close.
