BAND CONTEST BEGINS ON SATURDAY Br Telegraph.—Press Association Dunedin, February 16. The thirteenth week of the exhibition ended vesterday with .the attendance total at 1,601,650, which is equal to a, daily average of 20,801. A good week is expected from Saturday, when the big brass band contest, lor which 48 bands from all parts of the Dominion have entered, will begin. I liebands will march through the city to the exhibition by way of the new highway, and proceed Straight to the sports ground for the first quickstep event, Other events will be held in the festival hall, and the small hall in the education court. Two distinguished visitors to-day were Mr Allan, Premier of Victoria; and Sir Mcvnard Hedstrom, of Fiji. Both exptessed themselves as being greatly surprised at the huge scale ami the magnificence of the exhibition.
