Captain George Wilkins, the Australian, is now en route to Point Barrow, Northern Mask a,whence he will hop off in March in an attempt to fly over the North Pole to Spitsbergen. “He will never make it in a ’plane,” said Captain Roald Amundsen, the Norwegian explorer, to-day at Sacramento, California, where he is now sojuniing. “I learned a lesson on my last voyage. J,t is almost certain death or ■ ultimate destruction to land on ice flocs.”—Reuter. SUPPLY PARTY RETURNS (Rec, February 11, 5.5 p.m.) New York, February 12. A message from Nenana, Maska, states that Captain, Wilkins’s transpolar expedition supply party have returned. Their snow motors arc damaged, occasioning a delay of many hours. They only travelled three miles after yesterday’s start on the Nenana River.—Reuter.
