THE TAMAHINE’S EXCURSION
The Union Steam Ship Company’s express steamer Tamahine carried a record •number of passengers when she left Wellington at 1.15 p.m, bn Saturday on her customary week-end excursion to Picton and the Marlborough Sounds. The trip across Cook Strait was favoured bv fine weather, and a smooth sea. Tlie night was spent at Picton, and dancing on the upper deck was indulged in during the evening The vessel left Picton at 4 a.m. yesterday and cruised amidst scenic delights to'the head of Tennyson Inlet. Boatin", fishing, swimming, <.nd sightseeing excursions ashore afforded enjoyment for all. Calls were also made at'the historic Ship’s Cove, and Double Bav On the passage back io Wellington there was a moderate southeasterly swell and breeze. Ihe Tamalune arrived back at 9.35 o’clock last night.
