A PIRATE RAID

FRENCH STEAMER HELD UP. Peking, February 11. The French steamer Jade, bound for Hong-Kong from Kwongcbauwan, was the subject of a pirate raid. Seven armed men held up the captain and crew at the revolver-point, and forced the captain to steer the steamer to Mias Bay. Bullion worth 80,000 dollars was transferred to campans, after which the pirates decamped. The crew and passengers were not molested.— Reuter.
