Endeavours a'e being made by the Waimarino County Council to have the name of the Waimarino railway station changed to Ruapehu. The suggested change lias met with the approval of several local bodies, who consider that Ruapehu would be a more appropriate name for the Main Trunk headquarters of the Tongariro National Park.
