RUGBY CONTROL

SOUTH AFRICA FAVOURS ADVISORY BOARD. A meeting of the Management Committee of the New Zealand Rugby Union was held last evening. Mr. S. S. Dean presided, and there were also present:— Messrs. E. McKenzie, E. Wylie, T. Fletcher, H. S. Leith, W. Ilornig, and H. E. Combs (secretary). The South African Rugby Union notified that the following resolution was unanimously passed at a meeting of the board, held on December 7: — “This board expresses its keen disappointment that tho International Rugby Board has decided against the establishment of an Imperial Advisory Board as agreed to at the Imperial Rugby Conference on December 12, 1924. This ‘board, while not agreeing entirely with the suggestions contained in the letter of the New Zealand Rugby Football Union and with the decision of the International Board of March 26, accepts a conference, as suggested' therein, at which it will again press for the establishment of an Imperial Advisory Board.” It was decided that the annual meeting of the New Zealand Rugby Union be held on April 29. Matters in connection with the visit of a Maori team to France were advanced a further stage.
