BOXING

PURDY V. TROWERN. Tn previous contests between Purdy and Trowern, who will meet in the Town Hall on Monday, the attendance has created a record for the Auckland Association, and for their first meeting outside of their native city the indications are that all previous records of the local Boxing Association will be eclipsed if the booking for the first day of the opening of the box plan is to be taken as an example. From the opening of the plan on Tuesday morning the demand for seats easily” exceeded that of any previous contest, and if the booking continues at the same rate, the Town Hall will be fully booked before the end of the week. The officials of the association again urge intending patrons to book their seats at once. A note should be made of the fact that early door ticket-holders are guaranteed a seat up until 7.15 p.m.
