FRENCH PREMIER’S REPLY TO GERMAN AMBASSADOR

By Telegraph.—Press Association. Copyright. Paris, January 20. According to "Le Journal,” the Premier, M. Briand, has replied to the representations of the German Ambassador, Herr von Hoesch, in regard to the. strength of the Allied forces in the Rhineland, stating that there could at present be no question of reducing the strength of the French forces in the Rhineland.

M. Briand pointed out that since December 1, the French troops had been reduced by about 20,000 men, while the Belgians and British reduced their forces by only one regiment and one battalion respectively.—Reuter.
