“While the American visitor does not mind a little discomfort in out-of-the-wav places, provided there is something there to see that will repay him for it, he does like to be as comfortable as possible, and he is quite prepared to pay well for it,” said Mr. Wheeler. “They are used to evety comfort in the hotels of their own country, and while they are in the cities here they expect it also. When it is realised that they are devoting all the time at their disposal to New Zealand, in preference to other countries, I think they are entitled to consideration. They arc of the type which will connect' with a verv wide and influential body of people on their return to the United States, and will be your best advertising medium.” The party left for the .South last evening, and will motor to tlit Franz Joseph Glacier, through South Westland, and will visit the exhibition at Dunedin before returning to tour the North Island.
