HIS MAJESTY’S THEATRE
The large audience which greeted the weekly change of programme at His Majesty’s Theatre last night were more than satisfied with the quality of the fare. Slavin and Thompson instantaneously made good on their first appearance in songs and comedy. They are a merry pair, with good voices, and they had the house in high good humour. Another new turn which was quite out of the ordinary was the Janetski Trio, a band of three brilliant xylophone specialists, who wore recalled again and again for their finished harmonies. Alex Kelleway, tho vagabond vocalist, scored heavily with "South of Shanghai” and "Pal of My Cradle Days." Estelle Rose was at her best in song and story, the audience particularly enjoying “Rebecca from Mecca" and the monologue, "It’s _a. Man.” That clover band of child musicians, the Four Little Kellys, captivated the house with their sweet melodics. The popular MoonMorris Revue Company was seen in a new production, appropriately entitled "Cameos.” Tho principals were in great form, and had the laughter going strongly in tho turn depicting two revellers who are making a night of it. The Arbitration Court scene, "The Basic Wage,” in which several prisoners wore tried for grossly overspending their income, was cleverly put on, and created great merriment. Another merry scene was "Shopping,” in which George Moon and Dan Morris led tho fun. The new revue included many tuneful numbers. Eva Gordon and William Beresford caught tho fancy of tho audience in their duct, “The Midnight Waltz," and Kell Fleming, Syd. Burchall, and William Beresford were heard in numbers which met with acceptance. The ballet was Io the fore in new frocks and steps, and tho mounting and costuming were in the best L’nller style. An entertainment of rare charm and variety was nicely rounded off with fitting incidental music by tho orchestra, under the baton of Mr. Frank Crowther.
