FIRE IN GARRETT STREET

The Fire Brigade received a call at 1.30 o’clock yesterday morning to a twostoried 7-sevcn roomed apartment, house at 12 Garrett Street. The premises are occupied by Horace de Vanny, a labourer. Tho building and contents wore severely damaged. The building, which is owned by Messrs. Gibson and Patterson, is insured in the Phoenix Office for £7OO, and tho contents are covered in ths same office for £175, and in the Victoria Office for £lOO.

Be prepared. See that you have adequate insurance on your house and furni-„ ture. Consult the Mercantile and General Insurance Co. Ltd., Panama Street. It is a local company with all its capital invested in New Zealand, therefore prompt settlements. —Advt.
