The Wanganui Harbour Board has nk-ceH pn order for *ho construction of a

twin-screw fire anti salvage tug with the Dublin Dockyard Company (Messrs. Vickers-Ireland, Ltd.). She |s to lie 110 foot in length and the machinery will consist of two sets of triple expansion engines developing 800 I.H.P. This was the second order placed by New Zealand harbour boards with the Dublin Dockyard Company during November and December. HORORATA AT GENOA. Cable news has been received by the New Zealand Shipping Co. that the Hororata arrived at Genoa on January 15 from Auckland. The vessel left' the latter port on December 1. MAKURA FROM 'FRISCO. The Union Co. have received a wireless message from tlieir R.M.S. Makura, eu: route from San Francisco, Papeete, and. Rnrotonga, stating that the vessel will arrive in the stream at Wellington at 7 o'clock this morning. TRANS-PACIFIC CARGO STEAMERS. The Hauniki left Sydney on Jan. 11 for Fanning Island and Vancouver. The vessel is duo at Vancouver on February 4. The Wuitemata arrived at Vancouver on January 8 from FIJI, and was expected to complete discharge of her sugar cargo on Saturday. The Waiotapu from Vancouver and San Francisco was expected to clear San Francisco on Saturday for Auckland, Wellington, Melbourne mid Sydney. She is due at Auckland on February 10.

The Willuston (chartered steamer) from San Franclsei), was duo nt Napier on Saturday, and after discharge of part cargo will proceed to AVcllingtcn, Lyttelton, Dunedin and New Plymouth. The IVaihemo will leave Lyttelton about February 1 for Vancouver. The Wairuna, from s’ancouvcr and San Francisco, left San Francisco on December 22, for Auckland, IVcllington, Melbourne nnd Sydney. The vessel is due at Auckland about Jan. 22. .1 - — TO LOAD AT PACIFIC COAST. The Waitemata will load at Vancouver nnd >Sau Francisco, during the present month, and is expected to clear Sar. Francisco about February 2 for Napier, Lyttelton, Dunedin and New Plymouth, |

The Hauraki will load at Vancouver and San Francisco during February for Auckland. Wellington, Melbourne, Adelaide and Sydney. The Waihemo trill load at Vancouver and San Francisco early in March for Napier, Now Plymouth, Lyttelton, and Dunedin. The Wairuna will load at Vancouver and San Francisco late in March for New Zealand and Australian ports, to be fixed later.

The Waiotapu will load at Vancouver and San Francisco -during' April for New Zealand and Australian ports to be fixed later.

MESS TABLE GOSSIP.

Captain A. B. Sizer has been appointed Master pf the Kiwitea, and has with him the following officers:—Chief, Mr. A. M. Lucas; second, Mr. S. J. Atkins; third, Mr. P. D. Thompson.

Captain Donald Macdonald has joined the Kainianawa as master.

Mr. W. J. Berryman has been appointed chief officer of tlie Kainianawa relieving Mr. H. L. P. Brown for holiday.

Mr. W. Kehoe has been appointed third officer of the Sussex relieving Mr. N. H. Pearson for holiday.

MISCELLANEOUS.

The Hertford left Wellington at 5 p.m. on Saturday for Gisborne, Napier and Auckland to fill up. The Kent will sail from Wellington on Thursday for Lqndon, via Panama and Curacao. The Port Hunter left Waikokopu on Friday night for New Plymouth to continue loading. The Martaban will leave Wellington on Wednesday for Lyttelton, Dunedin and Wanganui to unload the remainder of her American cargo.

The Sussex will leave Lyttelton to-day for Timaru, Dunedin, and Bluff. The Corinna will leave Wellington today for New Plymouth to load for this port. The Kahika will leave Dunedin to-mor-row for Wellington via portn. The Kairanga was expected to clear Newcastle 0:1 Saturday for Wellington. She is,due here on Friday. The Kaituna will leave Wellington today for Greyniouth, to load for Gisborno and Auckland.

The Kamo will load nt Wellington to-day for Napier and Gisborne. The Katoa will leave Auckland to-day for Wellington. Tlie vessel is due hero on Thursday, and will sail the same day for Lyttelton, Oamaru, Dunedin and Tiniaru.

The Komata will sail from Wellington to-morrow for "Westport to load for this port. The Opihi will leave Dunedin to-day for Wellington, Nelson, and New Plymouth, via Oamaru, Tiinaru, and Lyttelton. The Waipahi will leave, Wellington today.for Auckland. The Wingatui will leave Auckland about the middle of the week for Wellington, Bluff, and Dunedin. The Wbangapc will leave Wellington today for Lyttelton.
