POLAR FLIGHT

WILKINS’S EXPEDITION Ottawa, January 13. Captain Wilkins’s advance party for the Polar flight has arrived at Victoria, and will sail to-night for Fairbanks (Alaska). From that point the party will sledge with dog teams and supplies, over four hundred miles of winter trail to Point Barrow. Two Fokker aeroplanes are being sent to Fairbanks, where thev will be assembled to fly to Point Barrow. Captain Wilkins expects to bop off across the Polar seas on March 21, taking only one ’plane. Each machine is capable of flying fifty miles an hour, carrying a load of 30001 b. weight.—Sydney “Sun” Cable.
