BASIC WAGE INCREASE
4t a recent 1 ’ conference of the New Zealand Woollen Mill Workers’ Federation, held in Wellington, the Arbitration Court’s pronouncement on the basic wage was discussed, and the following resolution was passed unanimously: “That this conference of delegates from the various unions connected with the N.Z. Woollen Mill Workers’ Federation is of opinion that when the Arbitration Covi't mr.de its recent pronouncement in favour of an increase in the basic, wage, same should have immediately and autpma.t.ii’ally come into operation,’'-
