MONTHLY BOARD MEETING.
Th# monthly meeting of tho Palmerston North Hospital Board yesterday was presided over by the chairman (Sir James Wilson). ]n rcplv to a letter regarding the Jouwatcr pressure, the town clerk advised th'- board of the proposal to take n poll Of ratepavers in the near future in connection with a scheme of improvements to ensure a satisfactory pressure. It was decided to inform the secrotnry to the trustees of the I 1 lock House that the board would be quite wi ling to admit anv boys from the institution, which is in the Wansanui Hospital district to the Palmerston Hospital, provided the cost of treatment were guaraAe request is to ho sent to Dr. Valintinc. Director-General of Health, to attend a meeting to be held on January 28 to discuss the proposed building extension scheme, which includes new wards, increased staff accommodation, operation theatro. etc., at au estimated month of December there wore 182 admissions. 185 discharges, and 10 deaths, and at January 31, there were llfi patients remaining.
