Tf the executive of tlic Trades Councils’ Federation decide to nominate Mr. Monteith as workers’ assessor on the Arbitration Court, the ,ction will have been taken without a mandate from the affiliated councils, stated Mr. Green, secretary of the Canterbury Trades Council, this morning. The federation, he said, did not have the; right to nominate anyone, and trade councils wore in a similar position.
