By Telegraph—Special CorkLsPonl’ent Nelson, January IL Among teachers appointed by the Education Board to-day were Mr. Albert Nielson, preset t teacher at Meeaiiee (Hawke’s Bay) io a similar position at Denniston, and Mrs. Mary Frey, assistant at Hastings, to be assistant at Shelbourno Street School. For a special position at the Takaka High Schoo, there were eighteen applicants from various parts of the Dominion, but it was decided to call for fresh applications. The 'board approved of the decision of the school committees to defer consideration of the proposal Io establish a high school in Nelson City far twelve months. Mr. G. I’itcarthley, senior inspector for the. Nelson education district, will retire on superannuation at the end of September and lias been granted six months’ leave of absence as Iroin tlic end of March. The Education Board to-day passed an appreciative resolution in regard to his service io education while in Nelson.
