« SOUTHERN CALTEORNIA OPEN TOURNAMENT. New York, January 10. J H. Kirkwood and Cooper each scored 138, thereby tying for honours in the qualifying round of the open tournament of Southern California. Kirkwood had six “birdies” at the last nine holes for 68. Cooper also had a card reading 70-68. The final, over 3G holes, will bo played on Sunday,—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn. ' A CLOSE MATCH.
