WOOLSTON TANNERIES
SITTINGS OF ROYAL COMMISSION It was announced yesterday that the sittings of the Woolston Tanneries Royal Commission would commence on Jaiiuarv 25. Mr. Justice Hosking will constitute the Commission, which, according to the order of reference, is empowered to report whether the Woolston Tanneries, Ltd., has suffered damage entitling it to compensation from the public funds, and, if so, to what amount.
Sir John Findlay, K.C., who appeared for the Government when the companv’s claim in regard to severe losses (said to have been sustained as a result of alleged harsh administration of the regulations dealing with the control of hides and skins during the war) was before a joint committee of the two Houses of Parliament, has been retained bv the Government. Mr. M. Divers, K.C., who represented . the Woolston Tanneries before the joint committee, will appear for the company before the Royal Commission.
