VICTORIES BY FITZGERALD. (Rec. January 10, 5.5 p.m.) Sydney, January 9. The New Zealand cyclist, Fitzgerald, won tho first-class ten miles scratch race, beating Dempsey nnd Gibaud in a fine finish. Time, 21lnin. 35scc. Fitzgerald also defeated Gibaud bv two lengths in a quarter-mile heat of the match race in 44scc., and by twenty yards in a half-mile heat in Glsec., and won ths- race. Previously the New Zealander had a nasty fall in the wheel race and rode in bandages.—Press Assn.
