ENFORCEMENT OF 44-HOUR WEEK
CAUSING DISORGANISATION. Sydney, - January 7. The compulsory enforcement of the ■H-hour week is causing much disorganisation in various directions, and the Courts are flooded with applications for a readjustment of conditions. In numbers of cases mutual adjustments have been reached between employers and employees. A very general expression of opinion among employers is that the reduction in working hours will have a serious effect on trade and mean an increase in the cost of living for the general public.—Press Assn.
