SHARKS HAUNT A BATHING BEACH
SEVERAL BIG ONES CAUGHT By Telegraph.—Press Association Auckland, January 7. Sharks have been making their appearance in Manukau Harbour during the holidays, and some days ago, two, stated to be of the grey nurse species, were caught by Mr. Rennie Fraser from Graham’s beach wharf. Several fins were seen circling off this popular bathing beach, and when heavy lines were put out two sharks were caught. They each measured Bft. 6in. in length. On the following day another shark, measuring just over Bft., was caught in the same locality.' Bathers who use beaches on the inland arms of the Manukau are now displaying more caution in entering the water.
