The dry weather has resulted in several grass and gorso fires, states our Grey-town correspondent. A gorso fire started on the Platform Farm at the north end of Greytown on Tuesday. Great, volumes of smoko arose, but the lire was controlled. A grass tire of some magnitude occurred yesterday at AV. E. Knapp’s, Battersea, near Greytown, and Mr*. Knapp bad to got the local brigade to help extinguish the flames. Except that he lost a good deal of feed, no other damage was done. The Fire Brigade acknowledges a donation of CIO towards its recreation fund from Messrs. E. Johnston and Co., auctioneers, Willeston Street, for services rendered in connection with thr recent fire in their premises
