Although visitors to the beaches recently have had occasion to lament ths loss 'of personal possessions through petty thefts, quite a number of cases of missing articles are attributed to carelessness on l the part of the owners (states the “Lyttelton Times”). Among a number of articles which were handed in to the police station at New Brighton were a camera and a pair of spectacles. These had been forgotten by the owners.,
