The arrest of Windischgraetz, who was formerly Royal Chamberlain and Chief of the Secretariat of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, a relative of the old Imperial House of Hapsburg, and the recognised leader of the so-called legitimists, unloosed revelations of a most remarkable plot which is developing hourly It is rumoured that the arrest of the former Premier, Count Teleki, is likelv to follow, ■ •’ tie the position of the 'Regent, Admiral Horthy, is shaken, and the present Premier, Count Bethlen, is preparing his own retreat. Moreover, Dr. Nadossy, Chief of Police, and the close friend of Admiral Horthy, was suspended yesterday, and a disciplinary inquiry has been ordered into his alleged neglect of duty; Windischgraetz’s secretary, named Raba, had been previously arrested, while there have also been • arrests in Serbia and Holland on charges of uttering forged French notes. Three of those arrested in Holland belong to well-known Hungarian families. It is admitted that their activities have a political side. They are engaged in endeavouring to accumulate funds for a movement for the resoration of the exCrown Prince Otto by exchanging false money for good. It is understood the disclosure of the plot would not have been achieved without a keen struggle within administrative circles. It is affirmed that the police secured evidence that the false notes had been printed at the Hungarian Army’s map-printing works, the head of which, Count L a ] lz ~ kovitch. is missing.—Aus.-N.Z.
