Mr. F. A. Wollerman is away on a tour of the Taranaki district, and ex. poets to return to Palmerston to-day. Mr. and Mrs. Rupert Reed of Fcildtng, ate visiting Wellington. At a recent meeting of the Presbytery rn Dunedin, the Rev. Dr. Merrington, or First Church, asked that his assistant,. the. Rev. A. C... Watson, M.A. (son of Mr. and Sirs T. Watson, of Fcildmg) be granted powers under the Marriage Act, and that he be appointed as associate member of Presbytery. It was decided to recommend Mr. Watson’s /egistration under the Act, while the second matter was referred to the Ecclesiastical Committee.
Mr. F. G. Moore, of Pahiatua, spent the week-end at Huntcrville visiting friends. He assisted in the choir of the local Presbyterian Chuix.li on Sunday -light. Mr. W. L. Macpherson, of Palmeraton North, is visiting Elthani.
Mr. Fred Matthews, Featherston ,is at present on a visit to Palmerston North.
Mr. IT. E. Edmunds, of Messrs Jus. lice and Edmunds, has returned to Palmerston North after having visited Auckland. The, death of Mr. AV. B. V. Pearce look place at bis residence, Rangiotu, on Monday morning, after a brief illness. Deceased was one of the most popular farmers in the district, and took an active part in local body activities, being at one time a member of the Waimate Road Board, Manawatu Drainage Board, and the Sluggish River Drainage Board. He leaves a widow, znd is a brother to Messrs. G. Pearce, cx-M.P. for Patea; Gilbert Pearce, Wanganui, and Alfred I’carce, Kakaranica.
