Nearlv 6000 people booked trips by the railways from Christmas Eve to Boxing Dav, inclusive. Lambton, with 800 on Boxing Dav for tlie Hutt Valiev and 200 beyond Upper Hutt, and the Central Booking Office, which issued 871 tickets on Christmas Eve, but onlv a few on Boxing Dav, supplied the remainder of the total, which, in view of the southern exodus, compares very favourably with last year’s total.
