TRAMWAY WAITING SHEDS
« Last night the City Council granted authority for the erection of a tramway waiting shed at the corner of Monorgan Road and Broadway, Miramar, on gound owned by the Board of Governors of Scots College, the corporation to undertake to remove the shed on receipt ot three months’ notice. Councillor J. Aston thought there was something unfair in this proposal, as there were onlv a few waiting sheds on the Northland-Karori Road as against nine between Courtenay Place and Miramar. In view of the congestion on the lino he urged that more waiting-shed accommodation should be provided, at Oraiigikaupiipa Road, al Karori- Park, and at-other places. Councillor A. L. Alonteith described the crushes on the Karori line as tho worst he. had been in. The Alayor said (hat the tramways manager had informed him that congestion was caused at times owing .to there being a single line, only lo Karori. Councillor B. G. IT. Burn asked that a report bo made on wailing sheds on the Karori line. This was promised, and the clause was adopted.
