4 HOSTILE TO AUSTRALIAN ADMINISTARTION WISH TO BELONG TO NEW ZEALAND (Rec. August 21, 0.50 a.m.) Melbourne, August 20. The House of Representatives debated a motion by Mr. Thompson,' gf New South Wales, for a Royal Commission to visit and inquire itfto the position of Norfolk Island under Commonwealth control. Mr. Thompson said the islanders were neglected by the Commonwealth, and were hostile to the present administration, and wished to belong to New Zealand, which was a nearer and better market. Mr. Thompson urged the Commonwealth to hand the island to New Zealand. * The debate was adjourns!.- -Preis Assn.
