MINE WORKER FATALLY INJURED By Telegraph—Press Association Greymouth, August 19, An accident resulting fatally occurred at 10 a.m. to-day at the Liverpool State colliery at Revvanui. A workman, James Whelan, aged about 00, was engaged hooking on trucks at the bottom of a jig, when a race of trucks ran away, striking him and causing injuries to his head and hand. It was thought that Whelan would recover after admission to the Grey River Hospital, but his condition changed and death ensued at 5 p.m. A horse-driver, John Rooney, and a horse, narrowly avoided collision with the runaway trucks.
