WELLINGTON STOCK EXCHANGE SATURDAY’S BUSINESS AND PRICES At the call on Saturday sales of Now Zealand Breweries 10 per cent, bonds at 225. and National Bank rights at 2Gs. were made on ’Change, and a sale of 41 per cent, stock (19.38) at £96 15s. was reported. There was a fair business done in shares during the past week. The per cents, changed bands at £96 155., £96 17s. (id., and £96 155., with buyers on Saturday at ,£HG 12s. Gd. The 5.J per cents, sold at .I'lol, and were in demand at. £lOl 2s. 6d. A good business was done in New Zealand Breweries Bonds at 225. There were buyers of Glaxo 64 per cent, debentures at £B5, and AVellington City 4 per cents, at £B6 10s. Bank shares met with good business. Numerous sales wore made of National Bans rights at 255. lid., 255. 9d.. and 20s. Bank of Australasia shares sold at £ll 12s. Commercial Bank ordinary shares made 30s. 3d., and the preference £6 12s. Bank of New South AVal.es shares sold at £4l 7s. Gd., Union Bank shares at £l4 155., £l+ I+s., £l4 14s. 3d.. £l4 13s. 6d.. and £l4 14s. Gd. Bank of New Zealand shares changed hands at 575. Gd. for the old issue and 565. 10d. and 5Gs. 3d. for the new issue. National Bank of .Australia, £lO shares, sold at £l6 ss. Only a moderate busi-, ness was done in the shares of financial companies. Sales were registered of Goldsbrough, Mort and Co. at 475. Gd., National Mortgage at 765. Gd., New Zealand Guarantee Corporation ordinary at 9s. 9d„ and AVellington Deposit at 9s. 6d. In gas shares business was done in Auckland Gas at 2.35. 6d. and 235. 7d., and AVellington Gas shares. £lO paid, were in demand at £l3 <ss. Tn insurance shares there were sales of National Insurance at 70s. Gd. and 70s. 9d., New Zealand Insurance at 345. 6d.. and South British Insurance j\t 50s, 9d., 50s. 3d., and 50s. Gd. New Zealand Refrigerating shares changed hands at 19s. 6d. for the 20s. paid shares, and 9s. 9d., 9s. 7d., and 9s. Bd. for the 10s. paid shares. HuddartT’arker ordinary shares sold at 445. 9d. and Ils. 6d.. and I’, and O. Deferred Stock at £270. Coal shares met with a little demand and sales were made of West,port Coal shares at 325. and 31s. 6d„ and AA’aipa. Coal at 235. Timber shares were in good demand, but sales were restricted. Kauri Timber shares sold at 335. Gd. cum. dividend, and National Timber at 225. 3d. New Zealand Breweries shares were in demand at 395. 6d„ and Ward and Co. brewery shares at £2 19s. Business was done in British Tobacco shares, at 445.. Dominion Rubber «t 325. 9d.. Burns, Philp and Co. at 355. 9d., and Taranaki Oil shares at 205., 225. 6d., 235., and 225. 9d. AUSTRALIAN GLASS CO. ’ Tho Australian Glass Manufacturers Company is quoted on the Stock Exchange share list, but recently no Lusiucss has been done in too shares, the company, however, appears to be doing fairly well. The. directors have, decided to declare a final dividend for the halfvear ended March 31, on the preference shares, at the rate of 6 per cent, per annum, and on tho iully-paid ordinary shares at the rate of 10 per cent, per annum; also on tl-.e amount called upon the contributing shares at the rate ot 10 per cent, per annum. The dividends are payable on June 24.
WAIHI MINING CO. During the vear ended December 31 the Waihi Gold Mining Co. treated °13.517 tons of ore, and obtained, a return of £392.861. Adding .£15,766 for sundry receipts, and £10,625 is the value of the power supplied by the Government, the total revenue is £419,252. The gross profit was £131,018.. Ol this amount £18,799 was paid in taxation, £25.000 was transferred to dividends equalisation account, £25,000 to c>velopment account, and £10.917 was written off plant as depreciation, leaving a balance of £51,281. AVith £16.126 brought forward, the company had £67,406 available out of which an interim dividend of Is and a final dividend at the same rate absorbed £49.590, leaving £17.816 to bo carried forward. The ore reserves at December 31 wore 448,918 tons and an average assay value of 335. 7d. per ton being an increase of 9659 tons during the'year, in addition to 259.143 tons in suspense account assaying 355. 2d., an increase ot 9131 tons. Jhe average xalue of the orc treated during the year was 345. 8d? per ton, of which 90.1 per cent, was extracted. LONDON MARKET REPORTS. (Roc. Juno 14, 5.5 p.m.) London, June 13.
