OVERSEAS PLAYERS IN ENGLAND. London, May 28. At the Middlesex tennis championships, in the second round of the ladies’ doubles, Mesdames Stebbing and O’Neil beat Miss Tomblin and Mrs. Melody (New Zealand), 6—o, 6—3.—Reuter. Terrey, the Australian player, has reached the semi-final of the West England lawn tennis championship. Wet weather has hitherto prevented the Australian lady tennis players from using the grass courts, and to-day was only their second practice on the hard courts nt, Roohnnipton. Their form has much improved, and to-morrow, accompanied by the Sydney player, Miss St. George, the team will lake up its regular grass-court practice at the Queen’s Club. —Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
