NEIGHBOURS’ QUARREL
FEUD EXTENDS TO CHILDREN Two extraordinary applications for sureties of the peace came before Mr. S. Ji. P. Free. S.M., in the Juvenile Court on Saturday. One of the applicants was a girl aged six, who prayed that a girl of ton years should bo required to enter into flic bond; and the other was a grown man. who had taken proceedings imiinst a thirteen-y ear-old boy for allegedly throwing a missile at complainant and challenging him to a bout of fisticuffs. The boy was further alleged to have hit one of the girls. From the facts placed before the Court it seemed that two neighbouring families at Miramar quarrelled, and it was not long before the feud extended to the. rising generation, which, was stated to be represented by ten children in one family and four in the other. . After hearing the evidence the Magis-, irate observed that the facts disclosed a disgraceful and deplorable condition of affairs. A neighbours’ squabble had been taken up by the 'children, and when the cases were brought before the Court lies were told by some at all events. All the cases would he dismissed with the exception of the assault charge against the boy, and that would be adjourned for twelve months. x will allow no costs,” added His Worship, cause I think everybody is to blame. . Mr. A. Free appeared for complainants, 'and Mr. R. Kennedy represented defendants.
