BIG INCREASE EXPECTED THIS YEAR EXPERIMENTAL FARMS IN AUSTRALIA Br Telegraph—Press Association. Con KIGHT (Pec. May 22, 5.5 p.m.) London, May 21. Presiding at the annual meeting of the Empire Cotton Growing Corporation the Earl of Derby estimated the Empire crop of cotton in 1924-25, exclusive of India, at 350,000 bales, compared with 249,000 in 1923-24, and 169,000 in 1922-23. It was decided to contribute £3OOO yearly for the maintenance of experimental farms in Australia. The expert, Mr. Evans, recommended that a specialist be appointed in Fiji to train demonstrators to assist the native cultivators.—Reuter.
