NEW BRIDGE OPENED

HON. G. T. ANDERSON AT HOKITIKA. Br Telegraph •••-■ Association Hokitika, March 25. The Hon. G. J. Anderson, Minister of Mines, arrived at Hokitika last evening, and received several semi-public deputations this morning. He proceeded to South Westland, visiting the Rirnu dredge en route. At noon he formally opened the KakapotaJii bridge recently erected at a cost of over £2OOO to replace file bridge swept awav a year ago by a heavy Tlie Minister complimented the County Council on raising a loan for the work, which was subsidised pound for pound by the Government. The Minister was subsequently entertained at luncheon bv the County Council, and later proceeded on a juarhey to Wailio. He will probably return to Hokitika on Friday. Mr. Anderson is accompanied .by Mrs. Anderson, and Mr. J. O’Brien. M.P., and Mrs. O’Brien.
