COMING ATTRACTIONS

4.. ARTISTS TO VISIT NEW ZEALAND. Mr. G. Walker, representing Mr, E. J. Carroll, the well-known entrepreneur, has arrived from Sydney to make preliminary arrangements for a succession of attractions to be featured in New Zealand within the next few weeks.. One of the first of these will be the Kaai’s Hawaiian Troubadours, whose “Honolulu Nights” entertainments have been attracting capacity houses in Sydney and Melbourne for the last three months. The entire company is composed of Hawaiians, who are stated to represent the best talent from that “Paradise of the Pacific.” Following upon the Hawaiians, whose tour is to open at Auckland on April 17, will arrive Miss Edna Thomas, a pronounced London star, and a deep contralto, who has made a specialty of the singing of negro spirituelles. Miss Thomas is really an American, but it was London which actually “discovered” her, and placed her upon an artistic pinnacle of fame. Miss Thomas is to leave San Francisco to-day for Wellington. Later still, Sir Harry Lauder, who is now completing a tour of the East, will come to New Zealand on a farewell visit, commencing the tour at Invercargill on May 4, and arriving in Wellington on May 20.
