The English lady racing enthusiast. Ladv Svkes, has entered 20 colts for the ‘ Futurity Stakes of 192/, and five horses for the Matron Stakes of T.Lb, savs a Central News message frotn New York. The Futurity Stakes, which is run over six furlongs, is for two-vear-olds, and since 1915 it lias been run at Belmont I’ark. It had previously been run at Slieepsliead Bay and Saratoga. The value of the stakes varies, but on the average it amounts to £lO,000.
Southend’s municipal tindertakings have contributed £106,000 to the relief of the rates.
