NEED FOR MORE RESTRICTION By Telegraph-—Press Association Gisborne, Dlarch 23. The Gisborne Chamber of Commerce, on the motion of the president, passed the following resolution" That, in view of U.S.A, immigration restrictions of undesirable aliens and the consequent diversion of the stream of Southern Europeans and others to the Southern Hemisphere, and tlie danger to New Zealand of an influx of low-class labour, the Government be urged .to immediately tighten up its regulations so as to confine admission to New Zealand to people of British birth.” The. support of the associated chambers is to be sought in the matter.
