SWEDISH BUTTER BOXES
STATEMENT BY DAIRY PRODUCE BOARD. Referring to the use of Swedish butter boxes, the chairman of the New Zealand Dairy Produce Control Board makes tho following statement: — "Contrary to statements made and opinions expressed in some quarters, the Dairy Produce Board is not r(>onsible for the importation of Swedish butter boxes. The overseas delegation, when in London, received a cablegram from tne board asking it to investigate the position as to price .and the probable extent of supply. Thinking that this tion in itself would be of 110 . unmediately practical value to the industry, the "delegates made arrangements with, one of the largest mills for the board to have the disposition of their agency in New Zealand' if the board thought it desirable that any action should ba taken. The delegation fully understood that it was outside the scope, of tae board’s charter to arrange for importation. Mr. H. Ernest Leighton reports a most successful clearance sale of poultry and plant, held by him at Mr. Pearce s,, rose Street, Lower Hutt, on Saturday last. There was a very large «ttendanco of buyers, and the poultry, was competed for, everything being 6 °U ] ’Y* der the hammer.
