The amount paid out by the Public Trust Office during February in settlement of new loans was £lsB,6B4—private mortgagors £v9,331 ami local bodies £59,350 —making a total for the eleven months of the current fniancial year of £2,297,046. The total loans granted but not yet paid amount to £686,299, and amounts offered being less than the full loans applied for amount to £182,683 —a grand total of £868,082. Applications on hand awaiting consideration amount to £161,669. With regard to new business, the value of estates reported and accepted for administration during the month was £-375,392, making the total for the current financial year £4,290,510 —an amount already greatly exceeding any previous year. During the month 412 new wills were deposited in the office by living testators, and the total now held is' 43,647.
